In Dilemma: what is the best option?

According to wikipedia "A dilemma (double proposition) is a problem offering at least two possibilities, neither of which is practically acceptable." Whatever the choice we select between the two, after few years we will definitely feel that we should have chosen the other one. The exception is rarest of rare cases where we are extremely lucky/successful. But most of the times we feel that the other choice would have given us better prospects. Its always easy to look backward at life and say I should have done this but the real thrill is in looking forward and making decisions.

Presently I am having a dilemma and have to choose between two. I have tried to analyze and weight out the +ves and -ves of each but still my mind is wandering between the two? It is tough choice.

PS: stay tuned, I will post my dilemma in future posts.

When will these chain businesses end?

Day by day chain market business marketing is becoming innovative and companies are coming up with same concept but in a new package (Amway, speakasia etc).

I got a call from one of my friend saying that he is working on an idea part-time and he is getting good returns. Naturally I got excited and was interested in knowing, but he insisted in meeting in person. After meeting he initially spoke about royalty and franchisee business. I am thinking of it as an sales proposition for imported products etc. I insisted to get to the point rather than explaining all these but after eating a good amount of 45 minutes of my valuable time I came to know that he is marketing about Amway. My immediate thought was to fly away from him, if I had wings, as a bird but unfortunately I didn't have wings.  So, I tried to be as calm as possible and said I will get back to you.

During my start-up, we were looking for a partner and I know that above person can perfectly fit into the role but still I had second, sorry hundred thoughts to invite him into our work. Basically I felt very uncomfortable to get him onto the table. May be sub-consciously I am scared that he is greedy for money or scared that he is not matured enough or hundreds of similar reasons.

I still wonder how the well educated IT engineers are falling for this trap? Are the good marketing skills of chain business leaders a reason for this? is it the greediness of people driving them to enroll in these? Why cannot they simply think that any chain business should end somewhere unless the Indian population doubles every year.

I have seen discussions about these business on entrepreneur groups about whether to join these or not? The outcome of that discussion was to join early and leave early. But if you are a person with ethical values its always better to stay from these. At least I feel that someone should not suffer because of me. Entrepreneurship is developing something for the good of our society/community/country/world, but not making the world worse after sometime.
